Adsorption Filter Elements
Adsorption filter elements use specialist impregnated filter media in pleated or rolled form, or activated carbon in granular form to remove oil and other hydrocarbons from liquids or gases. The effectiveness of hydrocarbon removal requires the system to be correctly sized for the process conditions, and the correct choice of adsorption media.
Adsorption filter elements require a pre-filtration stage to avoid solid contamination from plugging the pores of the adsorption media. Correct pre-filtration will ensure that all of the adsorption sites within the media structure are used to removal hydrocarbons and are not prematurely blocked with solids.
