Pleated Filter Elements

Pleated filters use multiple layers of thin filter media and drainage material sandwiched together and pleated to optimise surface area, minimise differential pressure and extend filter life. Dependent on the filter media used, the mechanics of filtration are a combination of Surface and Depth removal.

Pleated filter elements are used extensively in liquid filtration applications as an intermediate and/or final filter stage where the liquid has been pre-filtered to remove bulk contamination.
